Day to day, it seems our children remain the same. The changes occurring are so gradual, we don't necessarily see them. And then one day, we come across a photo from days past, and it's then we can see how much they've grown. We see that those chubby cheeks have thinned, legs are becoming long and willowy, and they now have arms that reach all the way around us when we hug. In an instant, it becomes too apparent that time is in fact marching steadily by, and gives few concessions in response to our wishing it slow down.
